3/27 Update

My week has been one of the best! I hope yall had an amazing week too!

• Monday: had district Pday! Got to hangout with other missionaries for the day and that's always fun! We played games at the church, got dinner, and dessert!
• Tuesday: went to the temple!!! I just LOVE the temple. Always such a great experience!
• Wednesday and Thursday: we went on exchanges with the STLs in the Savannah Georgia area!
• Friday: same ol' routine
• Saturday: was our ward Easter activity! It was amazing! They had different stations and people dressed up as people who knew christ and shared their testimonies.
• Sunday: lots and lots of rain! Didn't haven't a lot of people at church because it was so bad! Huge miracle though!! Amanda and her son JJ came to church! They haven't been in a while, mostly because Amanda's leg has been hurting a lot. But her leg wasn't hurting as bad Sunday and came despite the rain!

Makela, who wanted to be baptized, hasn't been answering our calls or texts :( not sure what happened but hopefully we can get back in contact with her!
We met Gene this week looking for his step sister. He was really interested in the Book of Mormon and learning more! He set the return appointment rather than us trying to find a time to come by!!

Please pray for
Makela to reach back out to us
JP to meet with us
Amanda's health
Gene to continue being excited to learn about the gospel

Pictures!
Sis Osborne was Mary Magdalene
We got CookOut shakes for our drive halfway to Savannah

Fun week

Sorry I'm getting this email out late haha, we had district pday and it was so fun! We played games at the church, got dinner, and then got dessert!

Saturday was just the best day! All of our lessons fell through BUT we had a lot of unplanned lessons! We talked to everyone we saw and that was so fun! We picked little flowers and took pictures, got soda (which always makes me happy haha) and just laughed a lot this week!

We went on exchanges and that was so fun and exactly what I needed! It was so good to be with another new missionary and in a different area for the day!

Miracle!
☆we stopped by a house this week and talked to the guy who opened the door. His name is Ryan. I met him a month ago and felt prompted to give him a book of Mormon even though he wasn't really interested. I gave it to him in faith that he will read it, expecting that I wouldn't see the outcomes of my prompting. But when we stopped by this week, he said he's read some of it!! That made me so happy!! I was rejoicing that I got to see some result of my prompting from a month ago!
☆We met Makela just last week and gave her a baptism card! Not usually how we start teaching someone but it worked! Our first lesson with her we invited her to be baptized on April 29th! And she said yes!!

I'm just so grateful for the joy I've experienced in just these 3 months! Seeing the gospel of Jesus Christ change the lives of the people in Georgia has been priceless! I have loved participating in God's great and marvelous work!

Highs and Lows

This week has been a mix of everything haha! Lots of miracles but also lots of disappointments. Lisa was supposed to be baptized this next Saturday but decided to be baptized in Tennessee where her husband lives. I'm really sad I can't be there for her baptism but I'm so happy for her and the support she'll have from her ward in Tennessee! We had lots of lessons cancel as usual but that gave us the opportunity to find more people to teach! Exchanges happened this week, we made Pazookies! A giant cookie with ice cream on top 😁

We had a member meal with Austin, he's pretty close to our age. His family has fallen away from the Church and he's the only one who comes to church on Sundays. He has a strong testimony of the gospel and I just know Heavenly Father is so proud of him and loves him so much. It breaks my heart to see families leave the church :(

The weather was nice for most of this week. It rained Friday and Sunday and now it's cold again... Georgia weather is indecisive!

Miracles
☆we had a lesson with a new friend named Danny but when we got to his house he wasn't there. We were pretty bummed because we brought a member to meet him and everything. But as we started driving away Danny is driving up! I had to wave our member friend down frantically before he drove off but it all worked out! We had a great lesson about the Book of Mormon!
☆ for our next lesson with Danny, he wasn't there again. But we ran into him at Walmart today while we were shopping and set another time!!
-> I accidently choked on water this week haha! So it's actually a miracle I'm still alive!
->  when we visited a family and no one was home, I noticed a man fixing his car in his driveway. I was like, we need to talk to him! But he went inside... so we knocked on his door! His wife, Laura, answered and was so nice and really wanted to know more! I'm so grateful for all the people God has prepared for us!

Funny
->  we have something called TeeWee that tracks our driving (so no speeding or aggressive driving unless you want to hear her yell at you). Well I was having a really bad driving day, nothing was going right haha. The worst of it was I was driving through an intersection at 60mph when I hit a massive pot hole. Needless to say TeeWee told me how aggressive I was driving :(
->  Rose is doing alright! Thank yall for praying for her! Sis Osborne was closing our lesson with a prayer and halfway through Rose goes "that's so sweet!" Then a min later "Okay, that's enough" we were cracking up!

Please Pray for
-> JP to make learning about the gospel a priority
-> James to reach out to us
-> Austin to stay strong in his testimony
-> Danny to be prepared for our next lesson

-> Pazookie
-> went to Steelys Grill! Such a cute restaurant (the sun was in our eyes during the picture)

Not sure how many readers on here are looking at the Countdown widget over here ====>

...but Brinlee is already 15% done!  Crazy how fast that time is flying and how fast that map is filling in.

Also, down at the bottom of the page shows how many views, or how often this page is visited.  Over 1,000 times already!  That's pretty incredible.  Thank you everyone, for supporting Brinlee and keeping up on her mission updates.

Light in the midst of hardships

This week was pretty rough. My companion had a cold last week so there was no avoiding that; I got sick too. But I'm getting over it quickly, so that's been good! A lot of our lessons most days fell through and no one wanted to hear from us. But that just gave us an opportunity to visit more people!

An update on our friends:
▪︎ Eric decided he wants to take a break from meeting with us :( That's been really sad.
▪︎Janelle has lots of questions and went to google... so that made things tough. But she's willing to hear more from us so that's good!!
▪︎Trent (the one who texted us asking when he can be baptized) won't respond to us anymore which is really devastating. Hopefully he will reach out again soon.
▪︎Rose is back home healing from her knee replacement. She doesn't want a priesthood blessing though :( we're going to give her a large print book of Mormon though so she can actually read the words haha
☆ The Hadlocks are my favorite! We've been eating with them for the passed few Mondays and they're so fun! The wife, Debra, isn't a member but reading the Book of Mormon is on her bucket list! We started reading that with them!

Miracles
☆ we finally got in contact with a family whos daughter isn't baptized after trying for months! She had a baptism date and everything but then complications got in the way of that happening and we haven't been able to meet with them in a long time.
▪︎we got in contact with another family with a son who is wanting to be baptized. We've also been struggling to catch them at a good time so it was a miracle we caught them when we did. We were talking with the mom and son when the moms boyfriend pulled up! He was able to join us for a short lesson about prayer, it was perfect!

Good parts of the week:
▪︎my companions had a meeting they had to go to since they're Sister training leaders, so I got to spend the day with another companionship! That was really fun! We served at the soup kitchen, then we got Zaxbys and ate at a park :)
☆we were playing the song "Savior, Redeemer of my Soul" and I caught the verse "And filled with sweet my bitter cup" and that reminded me of the Passover meal I had in seminary! When we ate the bitter herbs, that taste lingers for a long while. But when I ate the lamb meat the taste of the bitter herbs was gone instantly. That is what the Atonement of Jesus Christ can do for everyone. I am so grateful that through the Atonement I can feel peace and unburdened by sin.
I love you all! Shout outs go to Michelle and Ayns!
