Exchange Adventures
One of the members in our ward passed away and we went to her funeral on Wednesday. It was a graveside service and we had the most difficult time finding where we were supposed to be. Maps was taking us all over the place and when we asked someone for directions we discovered we were in the wrong cemetery (there were four!) So we eventually find the canopy where the service is at and start driving towards there. When we pull up closer we notice there's a fence... and the service is on the other side! So we had to drive right in front of everyone and go all around the fence to get there!๐คฆ♀️ once we got there though the service was amazing and very sweet! We were so glad to support her family!
One of the members does a Come Follow Me night at his apartment complex where we study the Book of Mormon along with the Come Follow Me study manual and we had a few new people show up to that! So exciting to share the book of Mormon with new people!
We went on exchanges! This is where we swap companions for 24 hours and learn how they do missionary work and it's a great opportunity to get to know them more and their testimonies! It's also a fun sleepover! I went to Richmond Hill area with Sister Loveridge and we had a blast! Sister Loveridge is in her 3rd transfer and finishing sister smiths training so that was really similar to my 3rd transfer and we were able to bond over that! Here's a fun little exchange story for y'all! Sister Loveridge was driving since I didn't even bring my card to log into the driving tracker system. If y'all don't know already, I get super motion sick real easily. By the time we arrived at our first contact I already felt like throwing up! But I powered through!!.... for a few more houses then I threw up in a dumpster haha!!
We have been praying for our friends to progress in the gospel since we've been setting up lessons but fall through. I've been learning a lot about seeking revelation and answers as to how I can improve in my part of teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am practicing patience!

I watched a police officer save a turtle๐ฎ♂️
What's up y'all! Spring is coming! The grass and trees are getting greener and flowers are starting to bloom! I'm also excited for St. Patrick's day! It's this weekend and it's a HUGE thing celebrated in Savannah! There's going to be a massive parade downtown and it's the 200th anniversary of this specific St Patrick's day parade so they're going extra big!! ☘️๐
This week was full of meetings. We drove to Columbia for MLC and it was sooo foggy that morning! ๐ถ๐ซ️ That meeting was amazing! We are seeing lots of change in the mission and so figuring things out for the zone and answering questions have been challenging in the best ways.
Then we had Zone Conference! President and Sister Hamblin gave us great training on faith and personal revelation! President shared an amazing story about a boy who was hired to do landscaping for an older lady for the summer. The lady told the boy she would pay him $1, $3, or $5 depending on how well he did. Well this boy did his job as best as he could and received $3 every time. Even when he tried harder and harder to do a $5 job the lady saw it as a $3 job. This young boy was determined to get $5 by the end of summer so on the night before his last day he laid in bed thinking about how he could make this lady's yard look the best its ever been. He would take out the crab grass and replace that with flower beds, put in fresh mulch, and exchange the dead bushes for beautiful trees. The next morning he got to work on what he envisioned for the yard. By the time he finished, he had so much joy in work, he completely forgot about the reward! The lady gave him $10! What I took away from this story is how looking for ways to improve and do better next time then the next brings us joy and it's the change in ourselves that is the reward, not an outside monetary value.
The other day we saw a turtle crossing the road! ๐ข I saw it because I almost ran over it... Sister Bruce made us pull over because she's an avid turtle saver! As we supervised the turtle crossing the road, a police officer drove by! He saw the turtle near the curb and pulled over to pick the turtle up and put him in the grass!
Huge Miracle❗️
We've been trying to meet this family (parents are members and kids are not) for so long and all we have availed is talking to the husband for a minute at the doorstep. Well, this family just showed up to church two weeks ago and the Mom signed up to feed us! So we got to meet/ get to know them while eating chick fil a! After we shared our little message I asked if there is anything we can do for them. Kimora, the daughter said "I don't know if this is something you could help me with or not but I really feel like I need to be baptized" I wish I could've seen our faces in that moment! We were able to set up a time to meet with them twice a week and teach her the gospel!! Sister Bruce and I skipped back to our car and said a gratitude prayer! I felt so much joy in that moment and I am so grateful we'll be able to teach her. God is good!
We went to visit our media referral, Tammy, but when we got there she said she tried to cancel the request. However, she said we could come back the next day so we did! Within 5 min of us being there she opened up about the trials she is facing right now. I felt strongly that we needed to share the book of Mormon with her! She was SO grateful for this book. I have never seen someone more grateful for a book of Mormon and it was the sweetest moment for me to see someone who desired to read it! Tammy definitely recognized her prayers were answered through us and that the book of Mormon has the answers she's looking for. I know the book of Mormon is God's gift for us to find peace and hope in this world and that it brings us closer to Jesus Christ who is the one who can lift all of our burdens.

Transfers pt. 11
Hey yall!! This week has been great! We got transfer news and... ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ I'm staying in West Chatham with Sister Bruce!! I am so grateful and excited to be here to see our friends progress and come closer to Jesus Christ and I look forward to growing and learning more with sister Bruce!
We met with a media referral, her name is Peggy. She's met with missionaries before and she had lots of amazing questions! She asked us about Jospeh Smith and how the book of Mormon is different from the Bible. It was an amazing opportunity to teach her about the testimony the book of Mormon offers about Christ! She has a sincere desire to know!
Another friend we've been teaching is Robert. We gave him a tour of the church building and talked about so much with him! (Baptism, tithing, callings, and the book of Mormon) he was listening to everything we were talking about! He's so excited to keep learning! He's already gaining a testimony of the Book of Mormon as he reads it! In his own words he explained "I don't want a one sided deal. (Referring to having only the Bible) It's like having a McDonald's happy meal when I could have a full dinner!"
Last Monday, Sister Bruce and I had a full day in downtown Savannah!! We saw and did a lot of things and learned a lot of history. Went to a great restaurant called grphon and experienced SCADstory! Scad stands for Savannah College of Art and Design! Funnest pday!!
