Happy Fall, Y'all!!

It's officially fall in the south! The leaves are starting to change color and it's in the mid 70's-80's. People here think that's COLD! Like, sweatshirt and layers cold! I've been enjoying the cool breeze and the absence of blazing heat. I also crocheted a pumpkin for the fall decor to make it official!

This week was great! We had a half mission conference and had some general authorities and their wives speak to us! I feel SO lucky to have learned from Elder Stanfill (who gave my favorite general conference talk, the imperfect harvest) and Elder Corbitt. They are amazing teachers as they teach from the scriptures, listen to what we say and apply it, and allow for silence. The spirit they bring and the power and authority they teach with was awe inspiring! Highlight of my week!
And I am so beyond excited for General Conference this weekend!

This week I've seen God place us exactly where we needed to be when we needed to be there and it's such a confirmation to me that He is in the details. This is His work and glory after all!

Transfers part 7!

I'm staying in Graniteville!!! I was kind of surprised to see that I'm staying in Graniteville for a fourth transfer! But I'm so happy and excited to keep serving the people in this area with Sister Clark!

A few notes from this week:
This last week was full of knocking doors and calling people, but we have fun with it and we meet some interesting people as well. We went to one house looking for Sherman. Instead we found his father, Sherman. He told us he has twin boys, Sherman and Erman. That's fun.
We went to visit a family but when we got there the mom said she needed to bring in the chickens. Before I knew it, I offered us to help! She took us up on it! We weren't prepared to do service so we were chasing chickens in our dresses haha! Quite an exciting day!

We had a few things broken in our apartment so the maintained guy came to fix those. He asked us a lot of questions! It was great to have a normal conversation about what we do as missionaries and what we believe! We were even able to give him a Bible! I love how God gave us that missionary opportunity!

We recently received a mile limit for our area. When we saw our limit we were flabbergasted, it was not nearly enough for us! But this week, at the end of each day when I track the miles we did that day, we guess how many we used. And every day we were awestruck at how little miles we've been using. We didn't change anything in our schedule, just going about normally. God has been providing a way for us to stay in our mile limit!

"Come on in"

Hey y'all! Not much has happened this week. Met some new people, had a few lessons, knocked a lot of doors...

I've just felt SO much joy in the work recently! I love being able to talk to new people and share something that means the world to me! I've seen how the ward members here are doing their own missionary work too and that makes my heart so full!!

Here's something that was crazy though. We went to someone's house and they invited us in! We've taught this family for a little bit but we've never been inside their house. When we were sitting in the living room the husband went to get the wife. Then we hear them starting a heated argument... we were stuck in their living room hearing this for a while when we were just like, we need to go! We got up and tried to make our escape quietly... I've never had to let myself out of someone house before! And in our attempt to get away fast enough, I ran over a curb, haha! Just the cherry on top!

We see these webs in the trees all of the time! They are called fall moths, they are caterpillars that eat the leaves and the web is protection so birds don't eat them

Celebrating the halfway point with a hurricane!

This week was crazy! Hurricane Idalia was coming to south Carolina and Georgia so we stayed inside our apartments for two days! I have sympathy for covid missionaries because being inside was difficult! We only got a drizzle of rain all day so nothing too crazy! We had another companionship of Sisters join us!

I'm halfway done with my mission! I've completed 8.5 months! The time is going by way too fast! I've enjoyed every moment. I've come to know Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ more by seeing Them in the work every day! In the small promptings and in how I see those we teach change their lives to become closer to Jesus Christ. It truly has been a blessing!
Funny Story
Last week I hit a bird! It actually just flew right in front of us, I could do nothing to stop it. It was pretty sad. Scared me so bad! There was a bird in front of us all of a sudden and BAM! But I'm sure that birdie is in a better place!

Love yall!
