Lost Wilderness

I can't believe this transfer is coming to a close this week! We'll get transfer news on Thursday! Sister Robinson will be on her way home Friday!

Miracles

☆ This week we had a prompting to set the goal of having two people accept an invitation to be baptized, and the Lord helped us accomplish that! One of them, we met just last week! His name is Marvin and we found him when we were looking for his neighbor. When we came for our return appointment, he was in his way out but was talking with us for a minute. He told us he was baptized when he was 12 but when he was telling us about it, I could feel his desire to be baptized again! We invited him to be baptized August 26th and he accepted!!

☆ James, who was baptized last week, has been showing all his friends the pictures from his baptism! One of his friends, Kathy, now has a desire to be baptized!

☆ we were driving somewhere when I had a thought of someone we were teaching. I knew we needed to go there but didn't know why. We parked in the lot of the apartment complex and prayed to know where we needed to be. We knocked on a random door but they weren't interested. On our way back to the car I saw a man sitting outside in the walkway. We went over and said hi, he asked us what we were doing and I had no idea what to say but I was being honest and just heard myself say, "we're looking for someone who wants to learn more about Jesus" he told us to have a seat and we had a great discussion about Jesus Christ. In our follow up appointment Nab and his entire family of five join!! The Lord guides us to be exactly where we needed to be!

Funny Story
We were in the boonies on a road called Lost Wilderness and all the street names were named after animals (bass road, turkey trail, raccoon court, bobcat lane, etc). And we saw someone who had almost a whole zoo in his yard! Ducks, geese, donkeys, and pigs (one big enough to eat me if it wanted!) and we saw a random boat in the forest!

Please pray for:

Temple Adventures

This week was full of joy!! Jesse and Steve went to the temple! We did family history with both of them so Steve was able to be baptized for his deceased brother in the temple!!💗 that meant so much to him!

Saturday, James was baptized! He told us he almost wasn't going to do it but the Lord told him he needed to! James has come a long way and has started his new life as a disciple of Jesus Christ! Thank yall for praying for him! From watching him become converted to Jesus Christ I have learned that Jesus Christ makes it possible for us to change our very nature! Even when we make mistakes, Christ is always there to pick us back up and help us keep going! James has overcome a lot and relied on Jesus Christ to help him change and get to the waters of baptism!

I don't know if any of yall remember Alex. I taught him in Evans. He was the most prepared person I've ever taught! He has decided to be baptized soon!! I was just in tears I was so excited and happy he decided to make that covenant! I know your prayers have helped a lot!

Here's a story you can laugh at: My unpleasant experience at Waffle House
-Within the first two minutes of being there, I had syrup on my hands from the table
-my chocolate milk was sour
-waffles weren't even good
Waffle houses are just as common as a McDonald's! Very large food chain in the south, somehow Sister Robinson hasn't been the entire year and a half she's lived in South Carolina until this week!

Just Another Week

This week felt like a month but went by fast. A lot has happened. First, Gianna told us she wasn't interested in being baptized or meeting with us anymore :( keep praying for her. Landon, who was also on date to by baptized, went out of town... again! So we decided we just need to take him off date until we can meet with him. James will be baptized this Saturday! Please pray for him!  🩷

Miracle
We were driving to an appointment when I had a thought about an apartment complex we've visited before pop into my head. I had no idea where that complex was, figured it was in the opposite direction, so I kept driving. Couple minutes later, I see the apartment complex! I told Sister Robinson I had a thought that we need to go there. When we parked, we had no idea why we were there, where we needed to go, or who to talk to, so we said a prayer. Sister Robinson had a door number come to mind so we knocked that door. We met Manuel and he said he was interested in learning more about Jesus Christ! I know God led us to his door for a reason!

We went on exchanges with the Sister Training Leaders! I went to their area for the day and met some of the people they're teaching and some of the members there! We had dinner with the Leishmans and found out they both served in this mission!! That was so cool!
We talked with Joseph, a returning member. When we answered the door he said "give me one moment" and went back inside. He returned with a ferret in each hand and offered them to us! So strange haha but I got to hold a ferret!

We found a cat the other day! She followed us to a door we knocked. When no one answered she followed us to our car. I was tempted to put her in the car and take her home haha! We named her Chipotle in honor of the restaurant we eat from weekly!

Musical Mosquitoes

I hope everyone had a great fourth of July!! This week has been fun!

We did not have a baptism this Saturday :( we moved James' baptism to the 22nd! So, stay tuned for that!! We had to take Landon off date. Gianna keeps canceling our lessons. We got a text from Melissa's pastor telling us to leave her alone... then they tried to bash us. That's the third time we've been bashed in 3 weeks!

We saw lots of miracles on Thursday! We stopped by a less active member and she said she'd love for us to meet the rest of her family and to start teaching them!!
We had a lesson with another less active and met her family who is interested in learning more too!!
We met with Wanda and her family this week too! She referred herself and when we set up a time to go over she said she'll invite her whole family and friends who would like to join! Wow!! What a miracle!! We found 3 people because she invited them to join us. She said she'll invite more people for next time too!

We had Zone conference with our new mission president! President Hamblin and Sister Hamblin are amazing and I'm so excited to see how the mission will improve with their leadership! We were combined with the zone in Auguata, Georgia so I got to see lots of other missionary friends since that was my previous zone!

As for the title name... mosquitoes have been biting! They're practically the state bird of South Carolina! We helped out in primary on Sunday and if the kids were singing/participating well, they turned into musical mosquitoes! They got a small strip of stickers and could put them on us! 😂

Please pray for

🎆Happy 4th of July!🎆

Hope yall have a great fourth of july!! My email from last week got stuck in my outbox, so yall get two emails! This last week was a little slow but we saw lots of miracles!

Pretty much all of our lessons throughout the week fell through but that allowed us to meet more people! We met Kathy, Brenda, Willie, and Lucille! Kathy is James' friend. He's been sharing what he's learning with her and she wants to learn more! Halfway through our lesson with James, Kathy was walking up, she lives just around the corner from him. She was so excited to see us, introduced herself and gave us her number and address. She said "I'm so glad I got to meet you! The Lord told me to keep walking" I know it's no coincidence Kathy kept walking to James' house when we were there!

I read this in Helaman 12:1-2 last night and it really stood out to me!
"...we can see that the Lord in his great infinite goodness doth bless and prosper those who put their trust in him.
Yea, and we may see at the very time when he doth prosper his people, yea, in the increase of their fields, their flocks and their herds..."
The Lord has been blessing us abundantly! He's increased our "flocks" or teaching pool. I am so grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who wants the best for all of His children!

As for this week, we're kicking into high gear! We've got James' baptism to plan for and invite people to and helping our other friends work towards their baptism dates! Also the fourth of July is tomorrow! I don't know what missionaries do for holidays haha! We have a lesson or two lined up and we'll be with some members of the ward! It'll be fun!

Please pray for

Transfers!

Transfer news! I'm staying in Graniteville with Sister Robinson! So nothing has changed haha, we're just gonna keep grinding! Another one of my companions finished her mission and Sister Robinson is going to finish hers this transfer. That makes 4/5 of my companions will be home at the end of this transfer, and I've been the last companion of 3 of them! Pretty crazy

This week was pretty good! We celebrated when we heard there's a new Preach My Gospel! I'm very excited to study from it!!

One of our friends who was on date to be baptized, William, gave us a "gift" yesterday. This gift was some candy and a bunch of anti pamphlets, which was making fun of missionaries and what we share. So that wasn't fun. But that's just the adversary trying to knock us down. He knows the great work we are doing in this area and wanted to distract us, but his efforts are pathetic. We're going to continue working hard! 💪

We met with our friend, Gianna! We met her because she sent an online request to learn more about baptism. When we reached out, she said she didn't remember making that request. After meeting a couple of times though, we invited her to be baptized and she said "I've been waiting to be baptized, I've just been waiting for the right time"!

We moved James' baptismal date to July 8th and he's going strong! We talked about temples last time but he was excited to tell us that he did what we invited him to do, he prayed to know if the Book of Mormon is true and he got his answer. He explained how God answered his prayer and now that he knows the Book of Mormon is true no one can take that from him. Such a beautiful testimony!
