This week kept us on our toes! We met with a lot of media referrals and it was such a blessing to see how god had prepared them all! We started teaching 11 new people this week and each has their own individual challenges and concerns from life. The blessing for me is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with them to help them find the best joy!
Few examples: someone cried to us about her worries for her family members- we shared how much God loves her and is aware of her and how she is a child of God. Another, recognized us as missionaries, opened the door for us, and expressed her worries about the world- we shared Heavenly Father's plan for His children and how she has a role in that perfect plan. Another felt restless & scared- so we shared the peace that comes from reading the Book of Mormon.
The gospel of Jesus Christ has brought me so much joy, peace, comfort, safety, direction, and knowledge! I am beyond grateful to share some of that to the people in South Carolina!
Elaine asked us why she needed to be baptized again if she's already been baptized (we get this question every day haha). We talked more about it with her. When we came back for our next lesson she told us she found her answer in the Book of Mormon! This made my missionary heart SO happy! She said her answer was, "even though I've been baptized before, I need to be baptized with this authority so I can get the gift of the Holy Ghost" Elaine will be baptized and receive the holy ghost November the 18th, two days before her birthday!!
Speaking of birthdays, I had my 20th birthday yesterday! It was a great day! Nothing different from a normal day as a missionary😁 we had a few friends come to church and the members took great care of them!! Then there was a baptism after church that our friends stayed for!
Fun Stories~
We started teaching someone and they told us they have rats in their little house! It definitely kept things exciting as we were teaching because you could hear shuffling behind you and then see the blankets on the wall move. A rat could have come out of anywhere and anytime! Luckily, we didn't have one jump out at us :)
Our apartment FLOODED. A waterline broke under my sink and in a short amount of time there was water everywhere! Once we got the water shut off, there was an inch of standing water in my bathroom, in the walkway, and in our doorway... A maintenance guy came and extracted the water but our carpet is still kinda wet :l
We hiked Issaqueena Falls today! It was beautiful with all of the fall colors! I got to see what is the closest thing to a mountain in South Carolina (a little hill) haha! We explored stumphouse tunnel as well!
Please pray for
